Nelly Furtado a distanza di quattro anni dall’ultimo successo “The Spirit Indestructible”, nelle scorse ore ha rilasciato il nuovo singolo. Il brano intitolato “Pipe Dreams” sarà contenuto nel prossimo album dell’artista dal titolo “The Ride”, in uscita il prossimo 3 marzo.
Il nuovo lavoro discografico dell’artista di “I’m Like A Bird” e “Maneater“per citare alcuni dei suoi brani di maggior successo, è stato prodotto da John Congleton produttore e musicista americano e membro del gruppo dei The Paper Chase.
In una recente intervista al The Fader, Nelly ha dichiarato: “parla della delusione, dei postumi di una corsa forsennata, di come rimettere insieme i pezzi e fare pace con le parti più autentiche della nostra vita”, “Pipe Dreams è una canzone sulla falsa speranza di un sogno e di quando si vuole vivere in una fantasia”.“È stato molto bello registrare quest’album. Io sono molto pop e gravito sempre tra melodie pop quando scrivo, ma John è molto interessante e riesce a riarrangiare una mia canzone pop in uno stile più punk, come io proprio non riuscirei a fare”.
