Dua Lipa, una delle nuove artiste più programmate dalle radio mondiali e più ascoltate su Spotify attualmente, presenta “New Rules“, un singolo tropical dance dal video che urla “girl power” ad ogni passo di danza della bellissima coreografia del regista Henry Schofield, che aveva già diretto Dua Lipa anche nel videoclip per il singolo “Lost In Your Light”.
“New Rules” parla di una donna che si dà una serie di regole da seguire per non ricadere vittima di un sentimento sbagliato, e ormai finito, per un ragazzo che ha tempo per lei solo quando non sa cosa fare ed è ubriaco. È una canzone di self-empowerment, che “grida” la necessità di resistere alla voglia di rispondere e dare un’altra chance a qualcuno che non lo merita più, quindi di rispettarsi maggiormente.
Il videoclip di “New Rules“, geniale, vede Dua Lipa a un pigiama party con le amiche dove, interpretando le emozioni della canzone tramite i passi coreografici, esse la consolano e le impediscono di resistere alle tentazioni verso quel “maledetto” ragazzo e, quindi, di superare la vicenda con il supporto reciproco.
